The referee didn't show up, and so both clubs agreed Brendon Robinson of Brunswick Zebras would undertake the referee duties for the first half, and this would be reviewed as half time if Watsonia had an alternative referee for the 2nd half. However, Watsonia didn''t have a team manager, marshall, linesman or alternative referee, and so all roles were provided by Brunswick Zebras, and with agreement from both teams Brendon Robinson refereed the 2nd half also
