Official Match Report
Golden City took on Strathdale at Shadforth park. Both teams came out firing in the first half with both clubs attacking from the outset. The game was played at a furious pace and going from one end to the other. Both clubs had chances but both defences stood firm. The young City team took the game up to the ladder leaders and the game was not a typical 1st V last. The second half started the same as the first, but was turned on its head when City midfielder, Charlie Peacock was sent off. With a numerical advantage Strathdale tried to overrun City and attacked at will. The City defence held firm, until the 84th minute, when Sam Farr scored after a goal mouth scramble. City thought they had a penalty chance when Zac Gilmour went down in the box, but it was waved away by the referee. Strathdale held firm and won 1 nil, but not without a big scare from a 10 man City.
