Inglewood started the game solid in their forward line with accurate kicking. They were getting a lot of the play out of the centre. Serpentine during the 2nd half of the quarter came back contesting the ball well in the back line and finding their forwards. Very even second quarter with both sides tackling well and controlling the ball in leading still in front at half time. The third quarter saw Inglewood come out of the rooms determined to get the monkey off their back. With determination from their backline players, confident marking and kicking and good handling of the ball Inglewood kicked 11 goals to Serptines 5. First half of the final quarter saw Serpentines backline defending very strongly and their forwards determined to put scores on the board. Inglewood tired from their efforts in the 3rd quarter on the back foot but finishing to game off well to win by 8 goals
