Official Match Report
dispute between goal keeper cards and time keeper cards.
Score above is according to time keeper cards.
One behind was removed from the cards at half time as the time keepers table had called the end of quarter 2 and the umpire had not blown the whistle yet (this behind was scored by bentleigh red and is not represented in the end score.
At 3 quarter time we had the same problem, Bentleigh Red was rewarded a kick at goal from 5 meters from the goals by the umpire but the kick was not taken due to the timekeepers table stopping Bentleigh Red from taking the free kick!
In the opinion of Bentleigh Red the score should at least had one extra behind in the second quarter and most likely one extra goal in the third quarter which should have taken the score to 32 points for Bentleigh Red
ST PETERS
As both teams Goal Umpire's Score cards agreed to the score St Peters 3.6: 24 v Bentleigh 3.6:24 there should have been no reason to refer to the Timekeepers scorecard. The result should have been a draw.
After the siren malfunction in the 2nd quarter, the behind that was not allowed was agreed upon at the time by both team officials and umpire and was not recorded on any scorecard.
The mark at 3 quarter time would not have been allowed as stated by the umpire after the game, as the Bentleigh player did not completely mark the ball.
Both the St Peters and Bentleigh timekeepers agreed after the game that the score on the timekeepers score card should have read 3.3 for Bentleigh not 3.4 at the end of the 1st quarter which is where they differed from the Goal Umpires score card.
