- Water Bottle
- 1 lolly bag to the first game (please hand to the Team Manager, they will be shared out over the season
What can I expect at Auskick?
An example of what you can expect at a typical Auskick session includes:
- Roll call and introduction.
- Warm up activities
- Game based skill training i.e., kicking, marking, handballing, bouncing.
- Grid/modified game
- Encouragement awards, treats and departure.
Who delivers the Auskick sessions?
Each centre has a NAB AFL Auskick coordinator who runs the administration side of each centre.
You can contact the Auskick Coordinator at auskick@smjfc.com.au
Each age group will have 1-2 coaches and a team manager. All positions are voluntary. Your team manager and coach will need help from up to 10 parent helpers on the day to setup and run activities. Please introduce yourself to your team manager on the day - many hands make light work.
The success of Auskick and a great experience for the kids rely heavily on the help of parents in running the activities.
I don't know much about footy; can I still help with the activities?
Absolutely! No experience is necessary. We would love to see as many parents as possible helping the coach run the activities. The more parents are involved, the more fun the activities become, and more importantly, the more fun kids will have.
What if it’s raining?
The Auskick program runs in winter and will go ahead if it is raining. Nearby lightning will sometimes suspend a session. You will be notified if a session is cancelled on Facebook and/or by your manager via email. Please like our page for regular updates.
