Child Safety at Zebras

In line with Victorian Government requirements Brunswick Zebras FC has developed the necessary Child Safety Policy and Code of Conduct which all Victorian sports clubs must put in place.

Brunswick Zebras FC  is committed to promoting and protecting the safety and wellbeing of all children. We have zero tolerance for child abuse. Everyone involved at the Club is responsible for the care and protection of children and reporting information about child abuse.

Our Child Safety Policy is based on the following principles:

  1. the Club has zero tolerance for child abuse;

  2. the best interests of the child are paramount;

  3. child protection is a shared responsibility;

  4. all children have a right to feel safe and be safe when they play football, and have equal rights to protection from abuse;

  5. the Club recognises that the Victorian schools system has provided children at the club with appropriate education in child safety and disclosure and the Club will build on this awareness in the context of the club environment;

  6. the Club is committed to the diversity and cultural safety of all children, including (but not limited to) the needs of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children, minors from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, minors with disabilities, and make reasonable efforts to accommodate these matters; and

  7. everyone covered by the Policy must at all times comply with, and be bound to, the Club’s Child Safety Code of Conduct.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
