2020 Season/Training Update

The Epsom Football Club Committee would like to sincerely thank our members for your ongoing patience and support during this difficult period.

We’d firstly like to state significant progression is being established by the club, in regards to all players and teams returning to training. As you may be aware, Football Victoria in conjunction with Sport & Recreation Victoria and State Government advice, have released the Return to Training Guidelines which clubs must understand and implement before the resumption of training occurs.
We require all members and their families to read and understand the guidelines before taking part in any training, to ensure the safety of yourself and others.

The Committee’s current focus is ensuring all conditions in the guidelines are able to be met and will be continually enforced before the commencement of any training occurs. Abiding to these guidelines requires cooperation from every individual, failure to cooperate will see training ceased.

On a positive note, our 4 senior teams have recommenced training with all Return to Training protocols being strictly followed. We have used this experience to analyse and develop a sufficient process for the commencement of junior training.
We are hopeful that our Competitive Juniors (U12-U16) will return in the next few weeks, our Junior Competitive Coordinators will communicate further information to coaches & managers.
Next week, we have arranged a Competitive Juniors Coaches & Managers meeting to ensure the Return to Training Guidelines are understood and will be adhered to.
We are currently considering when our Non-Competitive Juniors will commence training, as we have identified the challenges and difficulties of younger children adhering to the current restrictions.

Bendigo Amateur Soccer League (BASL) have every intention of a season occurring for all in 2020, we are awaiting State Government approval on the resumption of contact sport allowing competitions to commence, which an announcement may come in the next few weeks. BASL are hopeful on commencing the season for Seniors & Competitive Juniors on the 27th/28th June, and 11th July for Non-Competitive Juniors.

For those who may have not registered for the 2020 season, our registrations are currently still open. Players are not permitted to participate in any training unless registered, and players are now required to only pay half of their fees before their first game (Non-Competitive $95 & Competitive $100).

In regards to a potential reduction of fees, the Committee has not yet made a conclusive decision as we are actively awaiting further updates about reductions from Football Federation Australia, Football Victoria & BASL. Once these are known the Committee will meet and make a decision and communicate out to members.

We appreciate your understanding of the current situation, we hope everyone is safe and well. We hope to see you all around the club in the near future.

Thank you,
Epsom Football Club Committee
