While season 2022 did not yield the ultimate prize for the Ottawa Swans and the very high standards expected from them, it proved to be the perfect return of the Swans back to AFL Ontario and back from the 2 year hiatus of footy from Ontario due to the pandemic.
The season saw both the women and the men reach the finals with the men finishing the season with a record of five wins one loss and one no result, while the women finished with a record of one win, six losses and one no result.
The men managed to win the first final against the Dingos while the women lost their first final to the Blues. The men then lost the following final to the Toronto Rebels wrapping up the season for the Swans.
Season 2022 might not have produced the premierships expected of the Swans, but numbers for both the women and the men were great and has setup a great foundation for years to come with many rookies introduced to the sport.
The Swans also had two women, Charlotte Biot and Caroline Leduc, and seven men, Connor Addair, James Clock, Geoff Coventry, Greg Bridges, Greg Layman, Mic Masek and Riley Joseph all named to the National squad.
The Swans banquet will be held on Novemeber 19th and the AGM will follow the week after that.
