Forest Hill is an early flag favourite, but a quick check of the record books shows us that Surrey have had four close tussles with them the last 4 games with the split 2-2, so we’ll be hoping to go 3-2 after tomorrow. Head out and support the boys if you can.
Congratulations to all players pulling on the Surrey jumper for the first time today, and also to the SPJFC players progressing through to the senior club this year. The calibre of people and players that we can now retain and attract to our club is something that we are very proud of.
Senior Coach Scott Hamill is back for his third season; Andrew Comello, is again in charge of the ‘Ressies’ and are delighted to have Chris ‘Chops’ Langkau join us as Under 19’s coach, progressing from the junior club.
We thank our major sponsors Epworth Eastern, Harp of Erin Hotel, Nunawading Toyota and Savills Australia for their wonderful support. Our sponsor of the week is Box Hill Golf Club, who are on board this year to support the club. See below the details for an upcoming breakfast hosted by them for SPFC.
Memberships are now available - if you haven’t yet taken one up you can do so via surreyparkfc.com.auor at the club at next week’s home game
This year our major fundraiser is the Mega Draw – the Major Prize is a Toyota Yaris valued at over $20,000. 200 tickets only at $200 each which includes entry to the draw on August 11. Full details are on our website.
Upcoming Events at Surrey Park
Thursday 12th April - selection night for our first home game. We will hold the player / supporters draw on the night. Pay $50 to go into the draw, you get a player (or two players bundled) that you then are in to win 1. First Goal Kicker in the Seniors (sponsor wins a drink card), BOG in the seconds and firsts wins a drink card each. Of course you have to be there to claim the prize.
Saturday 14th April - Home Game vs Fair Park. With thanks to our new sponsor Nunawading Toyota we're having the 'kick the ball into the back of the ute' contest. Just $2 a kick, winner gets half the kitty. When we last did this it was a huge hit with both kids and adults.
Finally, we have our Breakfast at the Box Hill Golf Club on Friday 20th April. This is a fundraiser for the club that will also be an entertaining morning with the head of the SALT program and David Parkin as guest speakers. Tickets are $30, table of 10 is $250. All funds go to the Footy Club to pay for the SALT investment. Would really appreciate your support on this one. Please book HERE
Saturday May 19th – Past Player’s Day will be held against East Burwood at home, it’s been some time since our two clubs clashed and the old timers tell me we used to have some great battles. Put it in your diary, is always a great event
