Senior Club Update
The senior team will be striving to make amends for their first round loss while both the reserve and under 19’s will be looking to continue their opening round good form and make it two from two.
The senior team welcomes back the Tempany brothers, Zach and Riley as well as Teri Miriklis who will run across half back and the midfield, while in the ‘twos’ Dec Hauser returns after a 12-month injury. The 19’s have developed nicely, with a number of new players joining the club and look set for a great season. Make sure you get down to an under 19 game or two this season, to support the future of our club.
Junior Club Update
Round one of the junior season kicks off this Sunday with a full book of games at Surrey Park top and bottom ovals, as well Bennettswood and of course at the away venues. Junior club President Rohan Sutherland was guest speaker at the senior club round one Presidents Lunch and made mention of the growth of our great club, and in particular that girls now represented a quarter of the payers at the club. He also called on volunteers to assist in getting the teams on the park each week – if you can help out let us know and we’ll put you in the right direction.
The cub is particularly proud to see three teams feature in Division One Footy across three age groups, and gives a special call out to under 15 player Eligh Fox who plays his 100th game vs Preston this weekend. Full junior fixtures are listed at the bottom of this email.
Senior Club Membership
Thanks to the Surrey community that have renewed or purchased a membership for the first time – memberships are the lifeblood of our club and these funds enable us to build a club with a sustainable future, allowing the Surrey kids to stay together as senior players. Memberships start from just $59 and if you haven’t yet bought a membership, you can do on-line by following his link: https://www.trybooking.com/277036
Upcoming Events
Thursday 27th April – Players Sponsors Night with special guest Rodney Hogg. This will be a great night where you can sponsor a player for the season and be entertained by a great speaker. Full details of the night are attached to this email, while details of the player’s sponsorship program are on our website under the Events@Surrey tab http://surreyparkfc.com.au/
Saturday 29th April – Players Parents and Family Day will be hosted by SPFC President Bernard Tanner where we welcome the families of our senior and under 19 players. This is a great opportunity to get to know people around the club (especially for new players) and have a bite to eat in a relaxed environment. Please RSVP on surreypark@efl.org.au
Sponsors
Both the junior and senior club welcome back those sponsors that have generously extended the support for our club and extends a very warm welcome to the new sponsors who have come on board this year. We will highlight them all throughout the year on our website, Facebook page and on the weekly email – please make sure you do all you can to support them as they support your club.
Until next week
