The 19’s had a 21-goal win to maintain their spot in the four, the Twos had a four goal win and move up another place on the ladder. A special mention to Liam Mooney and James Marshall for ‘doubling up’ playing both 19’s and Reserves games and doing very well in both. The Ones continued their good form to take away a 40 point victory and keep pace with the top four.
This week we welcome the competition benchmark in the undefeated ladder leaders Ferntree Gully to Surrey Park. This will be a great test for all three grades with senior coach Scott Hamill laying down the challenge to players to take it right up to them and see if we can’t just cause some upset victories on the day. With injuries and unavailability’s again this week, three players get the opportunity to represent Surrey in the Senior XVIII for the first time this year. Riley Tempany, after an injury interrupted pre-season gets his chance after some impressive form in recent weeks. Riley was a huge contributor last year so we are looking forward to seeing him back on the park. Current under 19 player Pat Dowling makes his senior debut tomorrow, while Alex Stewart comes into the side, also after returning from early season injury. We might even see some ‘surprize’ inclusions in tomorrow’s Reserves side.
With the ‘Ones’ sitting outside the four on percentage, we simply have to keep on winning to keep our finals hopes alive so this is an important game for the club.
Tomorrow we will also hold our Presidents Lunch, with special guest speaker Western Bulldogs Skipper Robert Murphy. There are just a handful of seats available for this event, if you are still interested in attending reply email today and we’ll advise availability.
So it is set to be a huge day both on and off the field at Surrey tomorrow.
