The Under 19’s got up in a close game by 11 points and consolidated their spot in the top four. Our best were Liam Mooney, James Marshall and Oliver Anderson – who won the Surrey Barbers best player award.
The Ressies battled hard all day but fell short by 12 points. Pat Hatch played a great game and took away the Aqualink Café best player award.
The Senior team started well and led all day, running out 11 goal winners to keep us in reach of the top four. Graeme Johns kicked 7 and was our best. Sitting with a 3-2 record, and just outside the top 4, we have got off to a reasonable start for the year.
This week the three sides travel to Ferntree Gully and take on the ladder leaders, which we are all looking forward to.
With more injuries playing havoc at selection (and providing Premier Sponsor Epworth Healthcare a steady supply of patients), the senior side welcomes Andrew ‘Buck’ Rogers and Bede Briscombe for the first time this year while Ben Field is also into the side and will make his senior debut for Surrey Park tomorrow.
Thanks to all our sponsors and particularly Avon Tyrepower in Surrey Hills who have signed on for another year, please make sure you support the new owners Donna & Dean Smith.
