The 1970s was Renowned for the Mutton chops, an exciting beard style that made the most of your sideburns, an otherwise underappreciated part of your facial hair. Also known as a lamb chops beard or pork chop sideburns, many a local footballer rocked the Mutton chops back in the day
Pictured here in 1972, is one of Mitcham`s greatest Clubman in Graeme Charles ( Accepting his award from President - Richard Williams ) Looking very much the part in his velvet suit and his mutton chops on full display. Graeme is the only person to win a Mitcham Football Club - Senior Best & Fairest and be awarded a Life Membership in the same year - 1974 . Graeme was part of the famous pioneering ` Charles` family of Mitcham and still retains an incredible memory of Mitcham`s early history and the important part The MFC played within the community
