Round 7 had the Tigers back at home against Templestowe in the Seniors and Reserves and the Unders played South Croydon. On a great day for footy, the Unders and Reserves recorded good wins while the Seniors couldn’t quite get the job done going down by 12 points in a low scoring game. Now having played every team once, we currently sit 5 wins and 2 losses in all grades with a great opportunity to build. NEXT WEEK we head back to Scoresby and look forward to seeing a big crowd out and about supporting the boys #Strongandbold
BIG THANK you to Paul Corris for the excellent photos of our under 19s and Debbie Stingell for the photos of ALL 3 games.
UNDER 19s COACHES REPORT
Pleasing to come away from the weekends game against South Croydon with another 4 points.
What is also pleasing is the fact that with a long list of injuries, we have been able to consolidate a position within the top 4 as we turn into the next phase of our season, again facing Scoresby next week at Scoresby. These positives however must also be mentioned whilst highlighting our inefficiency at times around the ground and in front of goal. With 25 scoring shots to South Croydon’s 15 we should really have won by more than the 10 points we did. YTD we have kicked 68 goals 84 behinds which indicates the must to have more composure with ball in hand and to continue working on our skills at training during the week.
Josh Valle continued his great form whilst Cam Pirzas, Tom Kerr, Max Hammond, Hayden McLean, Gus Teruree and Harry Prout had solid contributions.

Reserves Coaches Report
Difficult windy conditions Saturday as we took on Tempy who always come to play and are great rivals, we had a focus on consistently performing each week and our boys certainly did as we controlled the game from the 1st qtr where we kicked 6 goals and held a commanding lead taking advantage of the breeze. We managed a 1 goal to 2 second qtr to have a 30 point lead at halftime. Once again we kicked 3 early majors to put the game a long way away from them as our structures and discipline to lower the eyes and honour the short kick was terrific. The last qtr they closed the lead by a couple of goals as we secured a 39 point win to go 5 & 2 for year thus far. Dave McCardle was our best as his run and pressure at the ball was outstanding, Wexy booted 3 and was our best fwd, Tom Lucas ran on the ball and up forward and had an impact across 4 qtr’s . In general our contribution by all was the difference a real consistent effort was too good for Templestowe. Scoresby next week will be another test as we went down to them in Rd1 so we are very keen to turn that day around. Great to have supporters there again in numbers so thank you.

Senior Coaches Report
This week we hosted Templestowe who sat 3rd on the ladder. After a disappointing loss last week we were looking to bounce back strongly this week. Kicking with the aid of the breeze in the first quarter we started slowly allowing Templestowe to control the tempo and stifle our opportunities to score, we wrestled back control of the last 10 minutes to take an 11 point lead into the quarter time break. We started well in the 2nd quarter but some costly turnovers handed the momentum to Templestowe and they went into half time with a 6 point lead. In the 3rd quarter we were totally outplayed by Templestowe as they kicked 2.1 to 0.1 against the breeze to have an 18 point lead at ¾.
Kicking against the breeze in the last quarter we had our work cut out, but we started strongly kicking the first 2 goals to close the margin to 5 points. Unfortunately an ill-timed free kick and 25m penalty halted out momentum as Templestowe held on to win by 12 points. Zach Elms was fantastic across half back all day and Jake Parente was damaging deep forward and up on a wing.
Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting, we hope to see you all out at Scoresby this week..
