Under 19s Coaches Report
The opening 5 Rounds of Season 2019 had truly tested our playing stocks, having lost our Captain, One of our Vice Captains and one of our Deputy Vice Captains. I certainly have great pride in the resilience that our group has shown and that proved to again be tested yesterday against ladder leader Boronia on Saturday. The Boronia team have gone along undefeated for the past one and a half seasons, and at the end of Q1 yesterday we did not look like we would end the streak. A 5 goal head start was not what we had planned for, but the scoreboard was certainly no indication of the amount of football we had had.
From Q2 onwards our playing group responded to our challenge and should have come away with win number 5 for the season.
Disappointed, frustrated because we fell short of the result we wanted.
However better off with the knowledge our group walks away knowing that our best is as good as any other team in this competition.
We must continue to work in all areas of our game, our key focus being our decision making and skills by foot and hand.
Best Players:Tom Kerr, Max Hammond, Hayden McLean, Josh Valle, Gus Terure, Cam Pirzas.

Reserves Coaches Report
Just a cracking day out at Boronia with warm conditions, Boronia were 5&0 on top of the ladder so we had our biggest challenge to date and we delivered with a brand of footy we have been working towards all season. Our boys really set themselves with determination to play 4 pressure, team 1st football qtr’s including respecting our structures and they delivered winning by 22 points. We had the game on our terms from the 1st qtr as our work rate stood out on a big deck, we continued in the 2nd half to work and run harder than them with our fitness being superior to clearly play the better and come away with a deserved win. Tom Blanche was our best as his ability to use the footy and get in the right spots was super, Toby Ward at CHB controlled our back 6 who were all great as our rebound’s were outstanding, Danger’s run and use was terrific, our mids lead by Toslos, Roddy and Bluey along with Dave Mac and Doof gave us first use. Our fwd’s won their battles with Mark DeWatch booting 2, Wexy and Tom Lucas presenting all day which caused Boronia to struggle with our intensity across the ground as we in general everyone playing their role! It’s a good win however we have Templestowe this week who are going well also so our boys must now build and show the consistency required to be a top 4 side. Awesome to get great support, thanks to all for making the trip.

Senior Coaches Report
This week we travelled out to Boronia to take on the reigning premiers, we knew this would be our toughest test to date.In the 1st quarter Boronia were much harder at the footy and got the game on their terms opening up a 6 point margin. In the 2nd quarter they started strongly and pushed out to a 3 goal lead but we got the game back on our terms for the last 10 minutes and trimmed the margin to 14 points at half time.We had the upper hand for a good portion of the 3rd quarter but couldn’t impact the scoreboard with our kicking going inside forward 50 letting us down as we scored 2 points to nothing for the term.We were confident going into the last quarter that we could run over the top of them, but Boronia were much more composed with ball in hand and run victors by 23 points.Lachlan Rudd was outstanding in defence all day for us and Jackson Hallo stuck his head over the footy at every opportunity. Thanks to everyone for coming out and supporting us, we look forward to seeing you at home NEXT week against Templestowe.
