Disappointing end to the season for our 1st and 2nd XVIII out at Doncaster East this week but our under 19s Who won, live to fight another day and will face off NEXT Sunday in the 1st semi-final against Croydon out at Boronia. Make NO mistake while disappointed with our season and results this year, we have blooded some very good young players who should stand us in good stead for next season. Plus our under 19s, most being bottom age will also add to the clubs overall depth and talent pool in the years to come. WELL DONE to our under 14 girls who won the grand final last Sunday out at Rowville against The Basin.
THANK YOU also to those volunteers that stayed at Walker Park last Saturday then doubled up on Sunday to run division 4 finals, would be great to get some more volunteers over the next 2 Saturdays as we again attempt to deliver another spectacular final series. Please make yourself available. Only one more official function for 2018 that being Presentation night Thursday 27th September (next day Public Holiday ) make sure you book your tickets on line via team app
Head to our official MFC face book page @mitchamfootballclub and Official Website www.mitchamfc.com for all these stories and more #strongandbold
Under 19s Coaches Report
With our place in the finals 99 % secure we had the bottom side still to play, However they didn’t read the script and gave us a very tough tune up for next Sundays semi-final.Doncaster East worked a lot harder than us and a couple of our key forwards had a very uncharacteristic day missing the target while at the other end Donny East rarely missed. The positive out of the game was we were out played but still found a way to win.Congratulations to the boys who have finished a couple of games clear in 4th spot and deserve their opportunity. Considering we were 1 Win / 4 losses by the 5th round the boys have moulded into a very good team , barring a couple of glitches on the way we have finished the season of strongly and looking forward to playing Croydon next Sunday morning at Boronia in the 1st Semi Final

Reserves Coaches Report
Just a stunning day to finish off the year as conditions were very different from most weeks, unfortunately we had a number of unavailables and coupled with some injuries we could only manage 2 on the bench with Harry and TK helping us out. They were very strong with their side as it was littered with senior experience and they should a bit in the 1st qtr kicking away to a 4 goal lead. In the second we pegged a couple back to go into the break down by 3 goals, the heat took it’s toll on their bigger bodies as we continued to have a crack with our effort being terrific, only some missed opportunities in the 3rd was the difference as we had most of the play. The last was a wrestle as we kicked the 1st goal to get to within 15 points, again missed chances cost us as they steadied to get the win, our fight was evident as we had no bench but the boys just gutted it out to the end. A season of learning for our young group as we showed our best footy was good enough however our consistency wasn’t in the end, I’m proud of all the players as they bring great energy and endeavour each week and that what you ask for as a coach. Thanks to all involved this year the support was awesome, Benny, Fos, Waz and all the trainers Court, Johnny, Eliza and Kobe we couldn’t do all this without these good folk, to the Club thanks for giving me this opportunity to Coach at this great club, it’s a privilege. To the players Thank you all!
