The Mitcham Football Club is delighted to announce that the recent Mitcham Junior and Senior Football Clubs Ladies Day Lunch has raised close to $13,500 for Neale Daniher Fight MND campaign. This is an outstanding fundraising effort and reflects the generosity of the Mitcham football community and the hard work of a large number of volunteers who put in many hours to produce a result that we are all justifiably proud of.
The Ladies Lunch was the culmination of many months of planning and coordination and the hard work of a large number of people who deserve to be recognized for their efforts. The Ladies Day Committee of Pip Cariss, Yvette Ajani, Kirsty Grace, Michelle Lucas and Elysia Ward did a fantastic job as a group in terms of overall organisation and also put in countless hours themselves individually. Carol Fox of Women Sport Australia donated her time as MC and we thank Matthew Scafidi, Adam L Harris, Janet Fleet and the rest of the Noel Jones Team for their generosity in supplying the dunking machine running the events auctions.
Gavin Ward for arranging the witty and inspiring Neale Daniher and negotiating and organising Hine Hire Party Equipment Rental Service PTY Ltd who generously provided the marquee that looked so impressive on the day. Inside the room, Al Wilson from Colourtech provided the event signage, Matt McCubbin and Aaron Blundell (Lloydy) did significant work in room set-up and pack down were assisted by a large MJFC and MFC crew. We also thank Sean Goldrick for organising event security with Southern Cross Protection. Gavin and Glenn Newnham managed the audio and we thank Glenn for also collating the Women at Mitcham FC Video and sound on the day.
The room was well served by Bar Team of Brian Lucas, Dave Blake, Luke Smith, Al Wilson and Ruby Schneider. We thank the Girls from our U14 and U16 teams with Jeanine Vains for their serving work as well as Dylan Raath Music for his great tunes and Graham Bradtke for all his photographic work. Toby Ward and Brian also did a great job in clean up on the Sunday.
We thank all the dunkees who took the plunge - Matt McCubbin, Craig Giles, Mathew Scafidi, Adam Harris, Jess Grace, Matthew McCubbin, Prue Cutts and Ben Stennett. The Mitcham Seniors also had a Thursday Night Ice Challenge to raise funds for the Lunch and we thank them for their efforts. Anthony Grace (who also MC’d the dunking) and Paul Goldsmith also sold a large amount of MND merchandise on the day that added significantly to the fundraising tally.
