It’s a brutal game Aussie Rules footy and when we added Pimmy and J Hoegel before the game to an already very long and growing injury list, it would have been easy for our guys to say NO chance against a Mooroolbark side that had plenty to play for. Full credit to our guys for having a crack and while we went down by 9 points the effort was certainly there, against a quality out fit in Mooroolbark. Reserves paid the price for the senior late withdrawals and following our under 19s is like watching a yo yo go up and down as they were overrun by Wanny South.
Football aside, Mooroolbark also showed there class this week by making an unexpected sizable donation to the#fightforfee fund. Remembering they were involved in the guard of honour for young Lachie earlier in the year, once they heard of Fiona's passing the Mooroolbark playing group all chipped in and raised some money for the Gilchrist family. WELL DONE guys it was a touching gesture and greatly appreciated. Footy clubs are an amazing place and look after their own, but it takes great bunch of people to do something for a complete stranger.
The thoughts and prayers of The Mitcham Football Club are also with the EFL Junior Umpires and Forest Hill Eagles this week after the sudden passing of Joseph Moschetti Friday night.
Under 19s Coaches Report
Under 19's didn't have their best game v Wantirna Sth. A real opportunity to take it to a top four side and we let ourselves down. Our first quarter was definitely our best. We played good team footy and had plenty of opportunities to do some damage on the scoreboard but could not convert. Wantirna Sth played a very good brand of physical footy and our boys didn't respond. We fell behind after quarter time and could not get ourselves back into the contest. Bruise free footy doesn't win games against a tough side and that's definitely a lesson we take from a disappointing loss. We have another untimely bye this weekend but will spend some time working on our deficiencies throughout the week! We are still very likely to play finals this year so we must be at our best when the games matter. Look forward to joining our senior sides again next week at home v Mulgrave for what should be three great games!

Reseves Coaches Report
With a growing injury list and some last minute changes unfortunately it was too much for us this week to really challenge a top 4 side. Once again I couldn't question the effort or endeavour of the group as they never gave up all day, scenarios like we have provide opportunity to play guys in different roles and that's what we did. Georgy was super on the ball cracking in hard all day and tackling well, Fos played on the wing and gave us good distance with his kicking and Truddy found himself in the ruck. With 3 games left and 6 wins for the year we are all focussed on getting a couple more wins starting with East Burwood this week. Thanks to all the supporters again for coming down.

Senior Coaches Report
This week we travelled out to mooroolbark who sat 3rd on the ladder so we knew it would be a tough match for us. Unfortunately Pimmy and Jayden were late withdrawals for us and added to a already lengthy injury list. We spoke about playing more attacking footy and being hard around the contest. Pleasingly we were able to do this for large periods of the game and played some fantastic footy and showed that if we play a team game with everyone buying in that we are capable of mixing with the best sides. Chris Hoegel was fantastic all day long working up the ground and winning plenty of the footy, Jake Toohey showed the potential that he has winning his share of the ball and using it well and Zac McCubbin was damaging all over the ground. Unfortunately after giving everything we had for 4 quarters we came up short by 9 points, however there were plenty of positive signs and hopefully it is a positive stepping stone and we can finish off the season strongly. Thanks again to all our supporters who came out to watch us, we look forward to getting back on our home deck next week against East Burwood.
