Not a great day at this office this week for the Tigers with all 3 teams going down to Croydon @ Croydon in the glue pot - The outside of the deck was fine but the middle of the turf wicket was an absolute bog hole. Needless to say both Clubs played on it and Croydon were simply better.
The under 19s had every chance and where only 5 points down just on 3 quarter time but got blown away in the last with Toby Ward again standing up down back and Rodrigo Arguello and Johlen Raath again in the best.
An under maned reserves found it tough going only kicking one goal to six in a real slog, on the bright side our younger players in Blanche, Foster and Finch were named in the best.
The seniors were chasing tail all day and never really got close enough to apply any scoreboard pressure, the Hoegel Boys kicked all 9 of our goals with Chris 6 and Jayden 3 while Taylor Pimm and Winterton were all named in the best.
*The club also wore two black arm bands today as a mark of respect for the passing of Fiona Gilchrist and One of our Major sponsors Al Wilson’s father / Under 19 player Tom Wilson's Grandfather during the week
WELL DONE to Glenn Newnham Vicki Hopkins Peter Hopkins and ALL our Junior Club who hosted the Vic Metro Junior Championship Grand Finals at Walker park on Saturday once again the EFL and AFL Victoria were full of praise for our club

Under 19s Coaches Report
Tough challenge against one of the inform sides of Division 2 Under 19's this week as we travelled to Croydon for our third battle so far this season. We started the game much better than previous weeks and didn't let Croydon have their own way. Our intensity and purpose was much improved with the boys working just as hard back as they did in offensively. We went in to the last break just 10 points down and managed to kick the first goal of the last quarter. Unfortunately we had spent all our petrol tickets getting in that position. Losing Oscar Anderson and Josh Doidge to injury cost us significantly with on ball rotations and Croydon took full advantage of a tiring opposition piling on a bag of goals late in the game to run out comfortable winners. Tom Lucas dominated even though he was under an injury cloud while Toby Ward was fantastic down back. A really good team effort for 3 quarters but we know it takes a full four quarter performance to beat a quality side. This week we get back on our deck where we take on the highly fancied Lilydale. We look forward to the challenge as we do each and every week. Look forward to seeing everyone Saturday morning nice and early.

Reserves Coaches Report
Not a great day for the 2’s this week going down to Croydon by 5 goals in what was tough, wet and slushy conditions. Unfortunately we struggled with numbers once again with 5 changes due to Senior injuries and unavailability’s, however that’s footy and we had to come prepared and ready to go on the day. There was never more than 2 goals in it all day until the last qtr where they kicked away, we really struggled across half forward to find someone who could get on top and they rebounded at will all day, our back six were terrific with Fos, Feeney and Finchy giving us plenty of drive. Our on ballers were also good lead by Beags however we couldn’t get our forward line firing with only Dylan Wylde being the exception. This leaves us still out of the four on % with a big game against Lilydale this week for 4th spot outright. Thank you to our supporters who came down in the cold we all appreciate it very much.

Senior Coaches Report
We travelled out to Croydon this week, we knew they would be very desperate as they needed to win to stay in touch with the 4, likewise it was also an important game for us to hold our position just outside the 4. Unfortunately for most of the match Croydon were more desperate than we were and worked much harder for each other all around the ground. We played some good patches of footy but could never string multiple goals together and as we know that is never good enough to get the 4 points in division 2. Chris Hoegel got back to his best form with 6 goals and Jayden chipped in with 3 also despite being sent off in the 2nd quarter. A must win game this week as we head back home against Lillydale, hopefully we see all our supporters out in force to help us get across the line. Thanks once again to everyone who came out to watch us this week.
