BIG Thank you to all The Mitcham JFC volunteers, Parents and Players alike who helped out with the hosting of EFL Senior finals at The MCG of The East over the last 3 weeks. The weekend started out brilliantly for our Junior Club with the Eastern Football League Junior Presentation Night at the Karralyka Centre in East Ringwood where we had two players invited by the EFL to attend the evening in Jamie Ross (Under 11’s) and Rodrigo Arguello (Under 17’s). Jamie Ross took out the under 11C Best and Fairest Award and Roddy came Runner Up Best and Fairest in the under 17C. Both boys had tremendous seasons for their respective teams this year and the club congratulates them on their efforts. Well done boys, you did the club proud!
While Both The Senior and Junior Club applauds the efforts of these two boys, the real highlight of the evening was that our club was presented with the prestigious George Parker “Best Conducted Club Award” for Season 2014. In front of over 450 people representing all the EFL Junior clubs, out-going Junior President Luke Smith accepted the award on behalf of the club and spoke with pride when talking about how far we have come over the past couple of seasons. He thanked his fellow Junior Executive members in Craig Giles, Glenn Newnham and Gavin Ward and everyone involved at the club for a fantastic season. “We have worked extremely hard over the last few years and to receive this award is recognition of that.”
While Our Junior Club endeavours to always strive to have team success, The Club has been re built around developing kids to play the game while making sure they have total enjoyment while doing so; a nurturing and positive environment that provides the players and parents a positive football and social experience. Winning this award is testament to the hard work our Junior Committee have put in and an endorsement of the direction they have taken as a junior club have taken over the past couple of years. Together with the nomination of Craig Giles as Auskick Coach of the year, we can all look back with pride at what our Junior club has achieved this year.
