While the Senior Premiership still eludes the Mitcham Football Club, The Reserves went some way to restoring order down at Walker Park by bringing home the clubs first Senior silver wear in over 26 years.
Played in front of a BIG Tiger army out at the magnificent East Burwood reserve on a fine spring day,it was all Mitcham from woe to go. Under the watchful eye of Reserves coach Aaron Smith and led by an Ageing Simon Godfrey who turned back the clock, The Mitcham Twos played a brilliant game of team footy to totally out play a South Wantirna team that had previously beaten the tigers in their 3 previous outings.
Young Lachlan Rudd was awarded the Medal for Best on Ground and with an average age of just 23, a Senior team that played in the preliminary final, an under 19 team that also played finals and a resurgent junior program, it looks like the times are a changing down at Tiger land
