I hope everyone is refreshed after our week off. It was good to regain that winning feeling in our last outing against Waverley Blues with both seniors and reserves bringing home the bacon. After a slow start, the reserves kicked away in the second term and dominated for the remainder of the game, the final margin being 63 points. Scott Dimitriou seems to have re-discovered his youth, booting three goals and earning BOG honours. Sam Downie also snagged 3 with Eshetu-Mulugata, R. Maxwell, Watkins and Hager also named in the best.
The seniors jumped out of the blocks with a four-goal to one first term but the Blues (who wear red jumpers) fought back in the second to see us eight points up at half time. The game was a bit of a slog from there on but we managed to hang on for a hard earned 13 point win. Goals were shared around with Ben Slattery voted best followed by Stephens, Atkinson, S. McManus, Jordan & Findlay. Well done to “Pubes” (Nick Cain) and his helpers on organising the “Flaming Moes” night. It was well supported and everyone had a great night. Don’t forget to get down to the club on Friday evenings at 6.00pm for Happy Hour and members draw. The prize money is jackpotting and you have to be there to win. This week we travel to Wantirna South where hopefully we can keep the momentum going with two wins. GO MUSTANGS !!!
