This weekend the Silvan Cats take on Warrandyte in a big Anzac day match up at Silvan. After a bright opening to the season, with two wins, the Cats will be keen to try and get a third on the trot.
Adding to the special occasion, there will be a minute's silence and a bugler from the Mt Evelyn RSL will play the Last Post prior to the start of the senior game. The players will be kitted out in special commemorative jumpers to suit the occasion.
The Warrandyte Football Club alongside the Silvan Football Club are coming together on Saturday to honour young Lower Plenty footballer, Patrick Cronin who past away this week as a result of a coward punch.
Both seniors & reserve teams will wear black armbands as a tribute to Patrick, he's family and friends....
Tribute to Patrick Cronin - Stop the Coward Punch
After the senior game, both Warrandyte and Silvan players, coaches and presidents will form a circle in the middle of the ground, in a one next to one formation, and observe a minute's silence for not only Patrick, but everyone who has died as result of senseless coward punch attacks. The aim is to increase awareness and end these coward punches forever!
See you all up at Silvan.
