A clean sweep this week, winning all four grades. It has been a long time since we’ve done that especially at K’Doo. Another great win from our A Grade, making it four from four wins. Marvin the Monkey certainly knows what he’s talking about! Good to see so many supporting. There has been much media talk about getting on the ‘bandwagon’ now that we’re travelling okay but most of our supporters have been with us, through thick and thin especially when we remained on the bottom for years. So keep up the loud support, we deserve to get excited! To be up-to-date with all the Bay goings on, recent footy photos, scores, ladders, sponsors and members please check out our new website at this address: http://tinyurl.com/portmacfc It is certainly worth a look! P.S. Best goal I saw today was Jordan Stark (Junior Colts) running in from boundary, looking unselfishly to centre the ball to the top of the square. The ball landed awkwardly on his foot and he accidently kicked a checkside to score a goal!! Look on his face: PRICELESS! Best mark went to Big Will, who used Jordan Murdoch for a step ladder! Best dressed went to Matt Sull for wearing a skirt in B Grade! Go the Bay!
Junior Colts
Senior Colts - Heart stopper of a game with Kalangadoo showing great fight to bring the game back to a 4 point margin. Credit to our boys for showing heart and managing to see the game out with the ball locked away in our forward line for the last few minutes. Still, the side needs to improve and play to our strengths which is speed and space and work rate. We will keep facing bigger opposition and kicking to contests will not get us the results we are after. So let’s be focussed with our game plan execution and put it to the test with another tough encounter coming up with Mt Burr.
B Grade - Another good effort against the ‘Doo. To their credit they came out hard and were able to get the jump on us. It took us half a quarter to get going but once we applied the pressure, the game started flowing our way. The whole game was hard and tough and we were lucky to walk away with our second win for the season. Let’s get out on the track and get a third win at the Burr.
A Grade – Another good week for the Bay down at the ‘Doo, the boys just seemed to do everything right. In the last few years it hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for us but this week proved otherwise. From the first bounce the boys worked hard and linked up well which showed we really came to the game with one thing in mind. Best for the day went to big Will MacDonald until injury forced him from the ground. Second best went to Jord Murdoch, who on his wing played the best game I’ve seen him play and the third best went to Poves (Rohan Povey), who seems to be putting some really good games together through hard work on his wing. Others to get a mention were Zupa (Zack Williams), Martos (Matthew Martin), Ryno (Ryan Fox) and his ‘little’ brother Matthew. Off to the Burr this week and hopefully keep the winning streak rolling. Keep on kicking boys!
