Hi to everyone out there,
Just thought I'd flick out a quick email with some news, updates and there are some attachments to have a look at as well.
The Senior Club is now well and truly into Tuesday/Thursday at Olinda Reserve. The handover of the rooms from the Olinda Cricket Club took place last week, we've been slowly moving ourselves in since then.
We had some solid results in the 1st week of practice matches against Seville FNC two weekends ago. The footballers went at it again on the weekend just gone at Montrose, whilst the girls headed off to Inverloch for their 2011 pre season camp (haven't heard from the girls yet, are you out there ???) We now have 2 weeks to prepare for Round 1 at Upwey. In my mind, there is no greater challenge in this competition than the trip to Upwey, so we should all be getting ourselves ready to make an impact on the year straight away.
We are still seeking Netball Umpires for our A and B Grade teams. Given that we are just over 2 weeks away from the seasons start, this isn't an ideal situation. If you know of anyone who could possibly be in a position to fill either, or both of these positions, please contact Tim Wall on 0418389848, or Becky Scott on 0425706924 immediately. Netball Umpiring is a paid position ! We also seek the assistance of one more Team Manager for Netball. Again, if you or anyone you know, may be able to fill this position, please contact Tim Wall or Becky Scott on those mobile numbers.
This Friday night (April 1st) sees the annual Oxfam walk take place, with Olinda Reserve one of the major checkpoints. We will again be running a BBQ including cold drinks and soup. If you wish to pop up for an hour to give a hand, or even to just say hello, we'll be up and going about 5.30ish, and going through until about 10pm. Its certainly became a massive event, and one we are more than proud to support.
This Sunday 3rd April, sees the Mighty Young Bloods start Round 1 at Olinda against Mt.Evelyn JFC. Given that we have no scheduled matches this weekend, it would be fantastic to see as many as possible come up and see our future stars in action. 2011 promises to be another exciting year for the OFCJFC. Go Young Bloods !
Please don't forget that memberships for players are now becoming due.
Price lists have been distributed already. Supporter memberships are also now available. For any membership queries, please don't hesitate to call me on 0408104202 ASAP, or email me here at this address. Membership is a crucial part of our year, we need everyone a part of the Red and White Army
Just finally, former player and Treasurer Paul Simmons, is running an Anzac Day function if you're looking for something a little different to do. This will take place at the Sandringham Yacht Club. Please see the attached !
Hope you're all doing well and look forward to seeing you all soon.
