This years presentation night saw a terrific attendence on the back of the clubs stellar 2009 season. Congratulations to the following players on receiving best and fairest honours.
In the seniors, it was Scott Tregonings night as he took out his third Mick Scott Medal to add to his league honours. Scotty had an excellent season which also saw him captain the team to premiership glory. In the reserves it was the evergreen Andy Greenall who won, after kicking the magical 100 goals during 2009. For those of us who watched the reserves GF, there was one bit of play where he ran as fast as he could to mark a ball that seemed to go 200 metres in the air. It was classic AG from 20 years ago. The unders saw Owen Raszkiewicz win the best and Fairest. Owen had a brilliant year that saw him also come runner up in the league, and add to that, he captained the unders to their first premiership win and also gained best on ground honours.
To the Netball, and it was the very popular, and games record holder Natalie Sloan, who won her first A Grade Netball Best and Fairest. Nat has been a tireless worker since joing the club and deserved this award. In Netball B Grade, Kelli Riddiford won her third consecutive B+F which is a fantastic effort. Kelli is one of a few of the original members from the first season and has hardly missed a game in three years. Also the Club unveiled its new netball Honourboard which was kindly donated by the Scott family, with special thanks to Tim for spending countless hours organising it.
To the Club awards, and this seasons Greg Zavan award went to Shaun Kuys who was always their to help in any capacity while this years best clubman was Chriss Riddiford, who has spent many hours driving the Sports Managemant Group. Well done everyone else that has contributed during the season as we now look forward to the 2010 season.
