After finishing all over the top of the undefeated Morwell the week before, the optimistic parrots supporters were hoping that their chargers were on the improve from what had been a very slow start to the season. Unfortunately, what they saw was more of the same with the Leongatha defensive side of the game left exposed and the youthful, hungry Lions looked at half time as if it was to achieve their first victory of the season.
A much imprtoved Leongatha came out in the third quarter to arrest back the lead and have all the momentum coming into the final change. The first few goals in the last quarter put the game beyond doubt, but once again the parrots completely went to sleep in the last ten minutes of the game and almost grabbed defeat from the hands of victory.
A huge four quarter effort from Marc Truscio was a shining light for the Parrots as was the consistency of the mobile forward, Cade Maskell, who booted another five goals.
