Congratulations to all our players and netballers who polled well at this weeks Morris Medal night, Jack Stean won the Third grade Best & Fairest award, Adelle Gormley was runner up in the A Grade voting, Sam Duck was runner up in the Reserves while still managing to play 8 senior games for the season and in the C Grade, Justine Willis and Anna Coelli voted 2nd and 3rd respectively in the competition with Sarah Everson taking out the Top Shot goal scoring award.
Another great game by the C Grade netballers in their win over Myrtleford last week to take them through to their first Grand Final appearance since 2000, current co-coach Deb Gray took them to a premiership win that year and if current form is any indication they have a great chance again this year.
Anna Coelli and Christina Lunt were best on court but it was a real team effort by all the girls with Sarah Everson scoring 28 goals and well assisted by Tegan Vogel 12 and Sally Williams 7.
The Reserves have been training well after having the weeks rest and with the exception of the injured Tom Breen, coach Jeremy Masterson has a full list of players to choose from, this will be the Reserves 8th Grand Final appearance since taking out their last Premiership in 1996 so lets hope persistence has it’s rewards.
Win or lose this week we would like to invite everyone back to the Clubs AFTER PARTY which will be held at Paddy’s Sports Bar and Beer Garden following the Reserves game, also don’t forget Paddy’s will be hosting an AFL Grand Final Day on Saturday 27th September. The game will be telecast live on 4 big screens and 5 plasmas throughout the beer garden and hotel, LIVE entertainment will commence straight after the game with PRO DJ and top Melbourne cover band DRIVE playing until late. Bookings can be made through the club or by ringing Paddy’s on 60213599.
