Treasurers Reports

Report not received before the meeting but details below added afterwards provided by Anna:

$5124 is the balance as 15th March 2021

$0 outgoing with the Training Court Fees due to be paid ($1119.80)

$435 incoming (club fee)

Registrars Report:

Club Fee: 46 members paid – 21 still to go. We are still chasing fees from last year’s club fees that were sent in October 2020.  Majority of these are senior members.

Feel that there is confusion over what to pay where – might need to send an email that clearly breaks down the Club fee and how to pay it and the remainder to Sutherland.

Discussion over the Seniors and their club fee participation, some wonder why they pay a club fee – JBC pay their nomination fee each competition and their singlets. Decided Jo will send a letter to our senior teams advising what our Club Fee costs covers for them in regards to the nomination.

Uniform Report:

Jaegers (U20), Jiants(U18), Jets (U16) Jaguars (U14) all need new uniforms for sizing and numbering.

Need to purchase new singlets for the Jaegers and Jiants teams and then the Jets and Jaguars can pass these down.

Email to be sent to the Team Managers for all singlets and kits to be returned to Quick Response by the end of Term 1 so we can redistribute singlets in larger sizes. Kelly to send an email to the Managers to organise this.

Short stock is still solid – all sizes available.

New singlets for the Jiants and Jaguars ordered (numbers 4-15) expected to be ready in 2-3 weeks.

Coaches Report

Jaegers (U20) – showing the benefit of all coming to training and playing for the past 7 years. Team will make the semis and finished top of the ladder.

Jiants (U18) - feels like it is on the way out as not enough can come to training. Team will make the semis but will be losing players for the Winter Comp. Finished 3rd on the table.

Jets (U16) – solid team but Matt can’t make the early games. Huge potential but now losing to teams that they used to win. Unfortunately, won’t make the semi-finals.

Jaws (U16)– Doing well and benefit from having their coach at training. Team will make the semis. Finished 3rd on the table.

Jaguars (U14) – Huge potential in the team if they can come to training regularly. Regular coach required. Finished in 3rd place on the table.

Jays – Huge potential with the girls and they have played against teams that are a lot older than – a U16/U18 competition. Some of the girls are only 13 years old. Doing really well and should make the grand final.

Training Court currently available for 3hrs on a Tuesday and 2hrs on a Wednesday. Court is available for Wednesdays for an additional 2 hrs (4pm to 8pm) – will need to confirm when and what hours so that they can do the contract. Kelly to contact the managers to see their availability for the Wednesday training.

Current timeslots:

Tuesday                                                                                   Wednesday

4pm – Jays (play Wed)                                                               5pm – Jiants (play Tues)

5pm – Jaws and Jaguars (play Tues and Thurs)                            6pm – Jets (play Tues)

6pm – Jaegers (play Mon)

Correspondence:

Jannali High School advised the availability of the training court for Wednesday.

Account Statement for Gym hire received (dated 3.3.21) – need to pay $1119.80

General Business

  • 2022 is the 50th year of the Jannali Basketball Club – would like to put some thought into a celebration. Need to make contact with old teams/members. Decide on venue/event in the next few meetings. Social Media to get in touch with people, old photos etc. Possible raffle and donations?
  • New Teams – do we want to start looking at juniors (U12) to start being formed to keep the club going as teams move into seniors. Decided to wait and see where we are in the Winter Comp as hard to get a team of players that want to train and play on different days.
  • Possibility of older kids to coach the younger teams?
  • Team Nominations – all electronic for the Winter competition. Kelly to send out to the Team Managers – due in by the end of Term 1
  • Sponsorship – Ruth (parent of the Jaguars) has been walking to find sponsorship – will put it on our social media as well.
  • Flowers were sent to a parent in the Jannali Jiants team who became unexpectedly unwell. Through this short period of time her son continued to train and play games and the father coached the team when asked to step in without a hiccup. We are very grateful for their commitment.
  • Jiants to hold a team meeting to decide the future of the team and where they will play in the Winter Competition.
  • General mention about the running of the stadium under Michael Bills management has been fantastic – very helpful and speedy to respond to queries. Think he is doing a great job.

Meeting Closed at 9.14pm

Next Meeting: Tuesday 15th June @ 7.30pm

Actions to be undertaken before next meeting:

  • Club Registrar to send email to Senior Club Members explaining the club fee benefit to them.
  • Club Secretary to send email to Junior Team Managers to return kit bags and singlets.
  • Club Secretary to send email to Junior Club Members about Wed availability.
