The club, together with the entire community, continues to monitor the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
As you would understand, information and updates from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services change regularly and we encourage you to access the department’s website (https://www.dhhs.vic.gov.au/) for updated information.
At the moment the club will continue with training as normal and expects practice matches and the start of the season to go ahead on Sunday April 19.
However, the club asks for your co-operation in the following:
1. Everyone should practise good hygiene to protect against infections which includes:
- washing your hands often with soap and water
- using a tissue and cover your mouth when you cough or sneeze
2. Each child should bring their own water bottle to training and not share their bottle with any other person. The club will refrain from using communal water bottles until the risk of the virus has passed.
If individuals or families want to self isolate as they are not comfortable with the risks associated with contracting the virus, then the club has no problem with non attendance at training or withdrawing from matches. However, we would ask that you contact your child’s team’s coach and advise them that your child will not be attending training or playing in a scheduled match.
If you or a member of your family is suspected by a doctor that they may have novel coronavirus (COVID-19) infection, then we ask that you DO NOT attend the club and/or any training sessions or scheduled matches, Again please notify your child’d team’s coach and follow the advice of your doctor or the public health unit until they advise that you no longer need to be in isolation.
DO NOT attend the club and/or any training sessions or scheduled matches if you have been:
- in contact with a person sick with COVID-19 infection
- in or transited through mainland China (not including Hong Kong, Macau or Taiwan), Iran, Italy or South Korea in the past 14 days.
We will continue to monitor the situation and take our lead from the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services and the SMJFL, in regards to training, practice matches and the commencement of the SMJFL season.
Our club believes that we need to take all reasonable precautions to help contain any confirmed cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19). We want to do all that we can to ensure the good health of our community.
We thank you in advance for your cooperation.
