The Waverley Park Hawks JFC is thrilled to announce the appointment of Leah Davey as Coach of the Under 15 Girls team for the upcoming 2016 season. Also joining Leah will be Nicole Eichmann as Assistant Coach.
Leah has an extensive background in coaching at an elite level in club and representative basketball. Leah is a mother of two boys and has been a passionate follower of all sports including of course, football. Whilst Leah is new to the coaching ranks of junior football, Leah has all the attributes required in ensuring our Under 15 Girls both enjoy their football and develop accordingly, both in an individual sense as well as in the team environment.
“I’m really excited to get started with the girls and get stuck into footy. I want to make sure the girls enjoy themselves and have fun first, but also develop as footballers. I can’t wait!” Leah responded upon hearing the news that she was successful in getting the nod to coach the girls. “I would love all of last year’s girls to re-register as soon as possible, if they haven’t already” she added.
Nicole Eichmann, who will be assisting Leah, comes from a rugby background, being a newly migrated ex Queenslander. Nicole played bugby at a senior level and is keen to impart her knowledge on tackling and all of the other elements that can be translated across to our great game.
Both coaches are looking forward to creating an enjoyable culture within the Under 15 and broader girls football group. You will be able to meet both of them at next weeks first training session for all of our girls' teams. We are also very fortunate to have Chris Sullivan and Al Vicic on hand to mentor and assist both ladies during the course of the season.
Please join the committee in welcoming both Leah and Nicole to our great club.
We would also like to join Leah in encouraging all of the girls who are yet to register, to do so asap. Even bring a friend along to next weeks initial training run.
