Varsity Vipers Basketball – 20201 Winter Competition Registration Information

Welcome to the 2021 GCJBL Winter Season with Varsity Vipers Basketball. Please Read ALL Information below before registering your player(s).

The Gold Coast Junior Basketball league is the Premier Gold Coast Junior Basketball Competition. The League consists of ten clubs: Marymount Blades, Celtics, Hillcrest Heat, PBC Magpies, Northern Nets, Pacific Pines Panthers, Somerset Spartans, TSS Suns, Tweed Slammers & the Varsity Vipers.

Competitions are run for both boys and girls in the U9, U11, U13, U15, U17 and U20 age groups.

The purpose of the GCJBL is to provide a competition pathway for junior basketball players on the Gold Coast which also leads to representative opportunities.

The Winter Seasons commences on Wednesday February 26th through to September 9th. Registration is only open for the Winter Season (fees will cover the Pre-Season Grading and Winter Season).  

 

GCJBL Venues

The GCJBL will predominantly be played at the Gold Coast Sports & Leisure Centre in Carrara and Tallebudgera Rec Centre.

2020 Varsity Vipers Team Trials: 

You must be registered by FRIDAY JANUARY 29 to attend team trials!

TRIAL #1 SATURDAY JANUARY 3O

TRIAL #2 SATURDAY FEBRUARY 6

Note: it is preferred that players attend both trials. Please contact coach@varsityvipers.com.au if you are not able to attend both days.

Varsity College Senior Campus Sports Centre, Assembly Drive, Varsity Lakes.

U9’s & U11’s: 8am

U13’s: 9am

U15’s: 10am

U17’s: 11am

U20 Boys: 12pm

Open Girls: 1pm

NO REGO = NO TRIAL 

 

2021 Gold Coast Basketball and Basketball Queensland Registration Information

 

All players must be registered with Gold Coast Basketball and Basketball Queensland to be eligible to participate in the 2021 GCJBL competition. The registration period for each product last for 365 days.

 

Players aged 10 years and older

Basketball Queensland Registration Fee $66.40

Gold Coast Basketball Registration Fee  $63.60

Total                                                              $130.00

 

Players aged under 10 years

Basketball Queensland Registration Fee $33.20

Gold Coast Basketball Registration Fee   $46.80

Total                                                              $80.00

 

Varsity Vipers Club Fees 

This GC/BQ Registration fee is part of your Club Fee Deposit or Full Payment and must be paid prior to player trials. Strictly NO REGO, NO PLAY!

 

All Vipers fees include Game Fees, Team Nomination Fees, Training court costs and end of season Presentation Awards Day. All fees are to be paid online by JAN 29 prior to team trials…

 

2021 VARSITY VIPERS WINTER SEASON FEES

 

Under 9’s:

BQ & GC Basketball Registration: $80

Varsity Vipers Basketball Fees: $200

(Game fees, Training costs, end of year presentation, admin)

Varsity Vipers Uniform (if required): $65     

Under 9’s Varsity Vipers total fees:

(including playing uniform) $345

(already have playing uniform) $280

 

Under 11’s – Under 20’s:

BQ & GC Basketball Registration: $130

Varsity Vipers Basketball Fees: $280

(Game fees, Training costs, end of year presentation, admin)

Varsity Vipers Uniform (if required): $65     

Under 11’s - Under 20's Varsity Vipers total fees:

(including playing uniform) $475

(already have playing uniform) $410

 

Vipers Uniforms

All NEW players must purchase a new playing uniform at a cost of $65. Sizing is available at the first trial.

 

Vipers Training

All training sessions are held at the Varsity College Secondary Campus stadium, Assembly Drive, Varsity Lakes, sessions are as follows:

U17’s & U20’s – Mondays 4pm – 5pm / 5pm – 6pm

U15’s Tuesdays 4pm – 5pm / 5pm – 6pm

U13’s Wednesdays 4pm – 5pm / 5pm – 6pm

U11’s Thursdays 4pm – 5pm / 5pm – 6pm

 

Coaches and Team Managers

In order for Vipers to enter teams into competitions, it is a requirement that we have a coach and manager for each team. If you would like to volunteer your time as a coach or a manager please contact Scott McGregor our Director of Coaching at coach@varsityvipers.com.au to express your interest.

 

2020/2021 Representative Season:

To represent Gold Coast Basketball in the 2020/2021 BQJBC season; all players must participate in 50% of the 2020 Winter Season games to be eligible to Trial. Summer competition is NOT an eligible competition. Further Information regarding the Gold Coast representative program will be provided later in the Club Season and via the Gold Coast Basketball website.
