URGENT NOTICE: COVID Update - 8 October 2021
The ACT Government has now released a pathway forward which includes a return to recreational and competition sport. As per the ACT Government Pathway Forward Framework, organised sporting activities are as follows:
From 15th October 2021 - outdoor training can resume with up to 25 people (excluding staff) in each outdoor space OR 1 per 4sqm, whichever is less.
From 29th October 2021 - open with capacity limits of up to 25 people before density limits apply. If more than 25 people, density limits of 1 per 4sqm apply within each indoor space up to 100 people (excluding staff), and 1 per 2sqm within each outdoor space up to 150 people (excluding staff).
Basketball ACT met with all clubs on Thursday 7th October to discuss what this looks like for the BACT Return to Play plan. As per previous communications, BACT is still committed to finishing up the current winter season for all junior and senior competitions. This will look to recommence early to mid-November and conclude mid-December.
All clubs will now be canvassing the availability of players to see whether finishing off the winter season is viable. A decision will be made in the coming week.
The summer season for all junior and senior competitions will commence in January 2022. Further details to be announced shortly.
