Winter trials next week (13-15 December)...and uniform store opening!

Hello to all current (and future) Dodgers players, families and coaches!
Winter trials next week!
A reminder that we are holding our Under 14, Under 16 and Under 19 trials for the Winter 2022 season next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (13-15 December)!
(Under 12 trials will be held in early to mid February next year).
To trial next week, you need to pre-register using this form - registration is free but essential:
Pre-registration will make the trials process run a lot more smoothly for us...and for you!
Please ensure you register by COB tomorrow (Friday) to enable us to email your junior's trial number to you over the weekend (to write in large numbers with dark marker pen on your player's arms).
Please note that registering to trial does not mean you are registering to play with us in Winter - we'll open our registrations to play next year.
Please also register to trial even if you can't make next week's trial times - as we will then have you on our contact list for any future mini-trials / trials-at-trainings opportunities.
Find more details about our trials by clicking here - including age group dates-of-birth for the Winter 2022 season, and trial days and times for each age group.
All of our trials will be held at the indoor gym/courts at the Hedley Beare Centre for Teaching and Learning (Old Stirling College) - Fremantle Drive, Stirling.
Please arrive at least 15-20 minutes prior to your trial time, wear a reversible singlet if you have one, and bring a water bottle and a basketball.

Uniform store open - next Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday - 5-7pm
We are also excited to announce that our uniform store (co-located at the Hedley Beare Centre, right near the gym/courts) will be open on the above days and times for the pick up of pre-purchased uniforms (please bring your receipt) and the direct purchase of uniforms and other Dodgers merchandise. Credit and debit cards are welcome.
For a limited time only, and thanks to our newest major sponsor, Benmax (, we are selling a limited number of our new (snazzy) warm-up tops at $20 each (normally $45). Purchase these tops at the discounted price direct from our uniform store at Hedley Beare.
Check out all our new Dodgers merch here -
And please find attached our price list and some pix of our new uniforms!
(A reminder that if you already have a current uniform that your junior has been using this season, you don't need to purchase a new one).

MVP and Coaches Awards

While sadly due to COVID uncertainties we haven't been able to organise our usual Club get-together this year, we will still be announcing our MVP and Coaches Award winners for the 2021 Winter season! We will send out an all-Club email advising of the Awards recipients over the weekend, and each will receive one of our new long-sleeve warm up tops. These will be available for pick-up at our uniform store at the above days and times next week. Stay tuned!

Summer season registrations

Thanks to all those players who have registered to play with the Dodgers over the short summer season. We are currently allocating players to teams (based on their previous playing experience), and will be in touch over the coming weeks with regard to your team allocation and other information.

Grand Final news

Congratulations to all our Dodgers teams that have been doing so well in the semi-finals and grand-finals for Winter 2021, including our Two Before Ten Dodgers Premier 1 Women who won last night's Grand Final against the Rats (67-39). An amazing 7th title and yet another Coach of the Year Award for our long-time Prem 1 Women's super coach, Rob Parker!

Our great night for Dodgers basketball included the following members of the Dodgers family receiving Basketball ACT accolades:
Basketball ACT Prem 1 Men's MVP and Defensive Player of the Year
Presented to Dodgers Captain Pietro Badalassi
Basketball ACT Prem 1 Women's Defensive Player of the Year
Presented to Claudea Waihape-Andrews
Basketball ACT Prem 1 Women's Coach of the Year
Presented to Rob Parker
Congratulations to all, and best of luck to those teams competing in the GFs this coming Friday and weekend - keep up-to-date with how our Dodgers teams are going in the GFs via our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Or better still, put on your Dodgers kit and come on out to the stadium to cheer them on!

Appeal from Basketball ACT - spectator behaviour
Basketball ACT is asking all clubs to remind players and families that for many of the kids playing in this weekend's finals, this will be their first experience of playing in a grand final - so it is important to ensure it is a memorable experience for them (regardless of the result). As such, BACT is asking clubs to remind players, parents and spectators about appropriate behaviour while supporting and cheering on teams. BACT has reminded clubs that under Basketball ACT's Junior By-Laws, teams (and clubs) are responsible for the conduct of their spectators. If a spectator is asked to leave the court and they refuse to do so, their failure to leave the court area within 2 minutes will result in the game being stopped by the officials or Basketball ACT representatives and a forfeit issued for their team they are associated with. Additional action may also be taken.
So the key message is...have fun at the grand finals, don't take it too seriously...and Go Dodgers!
Best wishes from the Dodgers committee!

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
