Update from the Dodgers - Summer 2021 season registrations

Hello to all Dodgers players, families and coaches - both current and future!

We hope you are keeping safe and well during the current COVID lockdown in the ACT.

You may recall that in our email to all Dodgers families and players on 8 August, we said we would be opening Dodgers registrations today (16 August) for the forthcoming Summer season of basketball.

Given the COVID situation that has since developed, we have decided to delay the opening of registrations for a few weeks in order to see how the situation evolves.

Like everyone else, we are hopeful that the current lockdown will not need to be extended further and we will be back on the courts as soon as possible, but currently it is better for us to hold off opening registrations for the Summer season until the situation becomes clearer.

At this stage, we are anticipating opening Dodgers registrations for the Summer season of basketball on or around 1 September. This will provide a two week window (once we open regos) for families to register their players with the Dodgers for the Summer season.

We continue to be in close contact with Basketball ACT, and will be back in touch with you should the situation change.

We also hope to provide further updates over the coming week or so on the remainder of the current Winter season and the forthcoming Summer season (insofar as the uncertainties of the COVID situation allow).

A reminder that, while the ACT remains in lockdown, all games and Dodgers training sessions are postponed until further notice.

In the meantime, please stay safe and – if you can do so at home – practise those fundamental skills and stay fit!

Please feel free to direct any questions to our awesome Registrar, Sean, at wcwdbasketball@gmail.com.

Our thoughts and wishes go out to all those in the ACT community, and further afield, who have been directly impacted by COVID – we wish them a speedy recovery.

Best wishes

Ashley Cross

President, WCW Dodgers
