13th & 14th September, Dural Warriors, Phoenix and UTS Northside battle for the Daniel Berry Cup

For the last 3 years the Warriors have hosted a pre-season tournament involving 2 other clubs, apart from the Warriors, which has been very successful in providing teams with much needed match practice before the start of the season proper.

Originally called the Northern Sydney Cup the name was changed last year to the Daniel Berry Cup in honour of a young para-Olympian, associated with our centre, who lost his battle with cancer last year

The competition consists of each team playing the other teams in their respective age groups. Each team is awarded 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. At the end of the day the club with most points receives a perpetual trophy as well as the 2014 trophy.

The age groups are as per Premier and State League configuration plus an 11  Boys and AWD category. Each team is assured of 2 games on the day; games will be played over 2 x 20 minutes halves. In general the draw will be organised in such a way that each age group will play its games in a rather compact block of times to cater for the 'busyness of life'  please refer to the attached draw

The tournament is endorsed by FNSW and will be officiated by referees appointed by the NSW Futsal Referees Association.

To negate a very long day we have opted this year to have the games played over two afternoons with the Male teams on Saturday afternoon and the Female teams plus the AWD on Sunday afternoon, allowing all teams to play on the international courts.

  • Saturday September 13th – Male teams
  • Sunday September 14th – Female teams
