The 2019 football season was one of resilience and character building for the Yeoman Football Club.
Having had a mass exit of 36 players (including the senior and senior assistant coach) from the end of season 2018 to the start of season 2019 (for various different reasons that were outside of the club's control) things were looking very challenging for the Robins for the upcoming season.
However, in true Yeoman spirt with a never say die attitude, the club worked incredibly hard over a very short period of time to secure coaches in Peter Fulton (Senior Coach), Kym Baldock (Senior Assistant Coach) and Jackson James (Reserves Coach) and scraped in with enough players to enter into the 2019 season with a team in both the Reserves and Senior competitions.
Although the Yeoman Football Club did not register a victory in season 2019 the real victory for the club was that we still had a club. We did not forfeit a game for the year, with some weeks being tougher than others, and we continued to improve in our game plan week in week out.
Off the field, the club was as strong as ever with a very committed committee working hard behind the active vibrant social atmosphere for all to enjoy with strong camaraderie between everyone.
Season 2020 is already looking brighter with all the coaches recommitting for another year and beyond. The 2019 season has set the foundation for the Yeoman Football Clubs' new direction for the next season and many seasons to come.
Personally I want to say a big thank you to everyone at the club this year who stared into the face of adversity and kept moving forward to ensure there was a future for our great club.
