Again wet conditions greeted players at Harrup Park on Saturday with the Reserves facing a strengthened Whitsunday Sea Eagles side. With the Sea Eagles senior team having a bye a few of their top senior players were included creating a danger game for the Hawks.
The Sea Eagles started the better team leading by 2 goals at Quarter time. They continued to be the better team in the first half, winning plenty of the footy around the stoppages while the hawks were unable to match them. At half time it was an 11 point lead to the Sea Eagles. After a Half-time spray from Coach Downsey the hawks were a completely different team after half-time kicking 6 goals to 0 in the 2nd half to win by 23 points. Better players on the day were veterans Barry Badcock in the centre, Mark Nicolson down Back while Matty Stephans did a great tagging job on the Sea Eagles best player from the 1st half. Zac Frost-Thomas played well in the ruck while John McDonald and Chris McKenzie were consistent across the 4 quarters. The win keeps the Hawks in top spot a game clear of the Swans.

In the Seniors the Hawks played the Magpies for the 2nd time in time in 5 days. With the conditions wet, slippery and muddy in the centre square start was a very scrappy affair. Josh Donovan Was providing a good target down forward along With Kurt Roderick at CHF while Aaron Wade and Desy Hayes were always ready for the crumbs. The 2nd Quarter was much of the same scrappy footy due to the conditions With Bryce Kachael in the ruck giving first use of the footy to midfielders Mark Berts, Jason Garrett and Nathan Holohan. At half-time a 46 point lead.
The 3rd Qtr was the Hawks worst for the day with the Magpies kicking the 1st 3 goals of the qtr before the Hawks kicked the last 4 goals to be leading by 57 points.
