Diggers V Rockbank
This week we welcomed Rockbank to our home ground. The first quarter was fairly tight with both teams enjoying momentum swings. We kicked into the breeze and held a small lead at the first change. It was physical around the stoppages and we were shown up at times with our inability to pick people up in transition, especially through the middle of the ground. This will definitely be a focus over the next few weeks. The second quarter was better and with the aid of the breeze we kicked away. The start of the third quarter was ordinary and Rockbank got forward of the ball on a lot of occasions. Again we wrestled back momentum near the end of the quarter. We kicked some goals early in the last which put the game beyond doubt. We need to make sure we learn to play full quarters and limit our lapses in concentration throughout the game. It important when the other team has momentum that we can get it back and limit there effectiveness in that time. We will work on defending in transition during the coming weeks. Our zone showed considerable improvement from previous weeks, and we will continue to work with the players in perfecting them.
