Thoughts on the result on the weekend
We thought that this was going to be a tough game for our girls with 3 of our team unavailable and another 2 with injury/illness clouds.
We only had 8 starting players, including young gun Jess Martin playing up from the 17’s team, who we are super lucky to have play for us when she can.
Unfortunately, tragedy hit 2 minutes into the game with our Captain Sarah Duff hobbling off the court after hurting her knee again, so we were down to 7 with no rotations for the rest of the game. The girls had to adjust and play out of position to plug the holes.
Although it was hard to adapt to the vastly different combinations, we witnessed an unbelievable team effort and belief from the girls to get the win by 6 at the final whistle, 32-26!!
