Thoughts on the result from the weekend
To beat Macedon at Macedon is always a great result. They had some key players out which changed our game plan a little meaning some players became open for different roles throughout the game. The boys managed to overcome a slow first quarter and adjusted to the bigger ground after quarter time and kicked away to a comfortable win.
Key moment in the game
There wasn’t really anything that stood out as key moment for us, we stepped away from our pressure game early and after a realignment, at quarter time the boys lifted their intensity around stoppages which increased the speed of our delivery to the forwards and we kicked away.
Key players and why
Danny Harrison was huge. His forward-line pressure was impressive. If he wasn’t leading up at the ball he was fighting hard on the ground. I think he kicked 4.4 and passed two or three off.
Arnold was solid. His attack on the contest was brave and his ability to run out of the stoppages really helped with our run and carry game.
Hunt played his role within the team perfectly. At times he didn’t get rewarded for his efforts but he did everything that I asked of him.
What improvements are you looking for from the group
After a fierce contest with Wallan our pressure game really dropped off against Macedon. As a group, we have a game plan that we are trying to execute and it really does take the whole 22 on the day.
