Talking Point
Diggers Rest – They are sitting winless on the bottom of the ladder and will want to be competitive against the Hawks.
Woodend-Hesket - They are maintaining their 2nd position on the ladder. Like last week the Hawks will need to keep focused on their own targets and maintain their intensity with finals only two weeks away.
Last week
Diggers Rest – Had the bye so will be keen for a run.
Woodend-Hesket – Had a dominant win against Romsey to score their highest margin of the season so far 78-12. Gemma, Sarah and Gracie maintained their great form in goals and the midcourt, creating space, fast movement and piling on the goals. The defensive pressure across the court with Amy, Macca and Abbey leading the way is providing plenty of turnover opportunities for the team and young Jess Thorne in the last line of defence is proving ever reliable under the post.
Why they will win
Diggers Rest – They have an enormous task in front of them this week but the terrible weather conditions forecast, this may just slow the game down and create opportunities for the Burras.
Woodend-Hesket – They will be wanting to put in a strong performance in the wind and the rain, which is something that they will be keen to work on.
Who will win
Woodend-Hesket will be too strong and come away with a big percentage and confidence boost, with one eye on Wallan next week and their finals campaign ahead.
