Grand Final specialist, Daniel Wakim, reached his ton on Saturday against Old Ivanhoe. Daniel has a long and proud history wearing the Bullant on his chest, being a formr 100 game player at the Preston Bullants. It is said that Daniel has lost count of the amount of premierships he has been a part of, which include all of our clubs three senior premierships. The son of legendary coach George, Daniel is a polished performer in defence. It has been said that his pace is so electrifying that his opponents can rarely get within 10 metres of him, resulting in uneducated mutterings such as "who's Wakes playing on" often being heard coming from the crowd. The unheralded master of the switch and crucial cog in the defensive unit, Daniel has proven his reliability time and time again. Mirroring his exemplary kicking with that of fellow staunch defensive unit Nick DeAndrade, Wakes is truly a commanding presence in defence, reading the play to perfection. It would be fair to say Wakes has marked and intercepted almost as many opposition entries inside 50 as the impregnable Reed Jepson! In all seriousness, Wakes has enjoyed every minute of his footy, playing alongside his many close mates, and has had great success both on a personal and team level. On behalf of all the committee, players and supporters, we congratulate Daniel Wakim on reaching 100 games with the mighty Preston Bullants!
