This weekend we saw one club game which resulted in a 100% win record as the Ressies won against Old Trinity at Trinity. This was the game that was washed out several weeks ago so it was with great anticipation that the boys hopped onto a Grenda bus and headed off to Bulleen on Saturday and returned with the chocolates.
A great effort from Brock and the team building up a winning approach when everyone else had the weekend off. Clearly one end was the favoured scoring end and we had it in the first quarter. Two goals from 9 scoring shots was a bit disappointing but we kept the opposition to 2 points.
However Old Trinity fought back in the second qtr by kicking 5 goals from 9 scoring shots but they let us in for 3 goals from 4 scoring shots. Half time saw the game 4 points in our favour.
The third quarter was pretty even - we scored 3 goals 2 behinds and they scored one goal 3. So at the orange break we had a 15 point lead but not the scoring end.
The final quarter was a real battle and our defence held up well allowing only 1 goal 2 which was enough to give us the win - our fourth for the season. Mitchell starred with 4 majors and the whole team contributed to the win.
