A big test this weekend in all grades for the mighty Bloods. The Seniors and Reserves take on St. Kevins OB at Elsternwick Park while the Thirds will be playing them at Princes Park. It is 11.40 start for the Ressies and Thirds (where is my new name?) while the Seniors will commence at the traditional time of 2pm. And it will be a 2pm start for the U/19s at Princes Park when they take on Old Camberwell. So two games at PP and two at Elsternwick Park. White shorts required for the senior sides while the U/19s are the only side officially playing at home, so black shorts there boys.
The School First XVIII will be taking on Wesley in their first game for the year. They have had a promising pre season and can approach the season with a real level of confidence. Lappas has the charges ready to perform!!
A few changes to the Senior side who have won the first two games. SKOBS won their first game against Caulfield but got beaten by Old Brighton last weekend. It is still early days in the season but SKOBS are always in the mix so it will be a good contest. We have held our opposition to low scores in the first two weeks and will look to do the same again. There is plenty of goal kicking ability and on ball strength so it should be a ripper.
The Ressies are also two zip and will be looking to extract some sort of revenge against SKOBS who have invariably been a bit too strong for us over the last couple of years. But the wheels are turning and there is enough to suggest we can knock them over.
The U/19s have added further to their depth and will be even more competitive this weekend. They essentially won the second half last weekend and this will hold them in good stead against the Camberwell boys.
Floydy's Flock will be looking to make it back to back after a convincing win last weekend. Again, there is some real momentum here - a great mix of older players passing on their knowledge to the younger lads coming through. These guys are doing a good job ensuring there is selection pressures every week.
