A Guss Patti torp sealed the 60 odd point win in very windy conditions. Heading up the road to Scammel reserve to take on the Krushers relegated from B section, Mazenod kicked into the strong breeze in the first term and held the hosts to a single major. From there the Nodders smart ball use and strong attack at the contest enabled them to pull away for a strong win.
Nick Jook's pressure on the ball carrier, Homers accurate kicking in front of goal and Phibba claiming the far wing as his own enabled an all round solid performance.

In the 2's it was a low scoring affair and the boys were over run in the last going down by 6 points. in what was a disappointing outcome for the 3's some good sign were there with the Greco boys finding some early season infront of the big sticks and big Weekesy finding his feet after a couple of seasons off.

BATER..... was all the talk of the thirds players as they filtered down to watch the second half of the ones. From all reports Rain man and Barrel tried to steal his thunder kicking 9 and being crownded the peoples Anzac day medalist respectivly.
Young Jeff had the ball on a string early kicking the first 2 goals before the other team had even made their way onto field. From there Steve Ballochs 3 goals 8 in junk time sealed the game.

in what was a tough day for the young guys in the windy conditions, Mazenod was punished by a slick and skillful Werribee outfit. Werribee pressured the ball carrier from the get go and the nodders were unable to find space and time to utilise their skills to full effect.
Michael Selvadurah continued his good start to the season, as did Patti and Strudwick.
Mazenod 4.5-29 Def by Werribee 17.12-114
