RESULTS SUNDAY MAY 31st 2015
PANTHERS WHITE
With St Albans still in club building mode, they ventured to Central Reserve with lots of missing players, however in true Panthers sprit, our amazing Panthers White allowed many of our stars to join the opposition for a very entertaining game of FIDA football. Again leading from the front was club leader Shaun Dux offering his services to promote FIDA footy by joining the St Albans boys along with Josh Wallace, the DiStasio boys, Mark Everitt, Chris Johnson, Matty Saunders,Toby Crook, and special mention to Vickram Jholl for his very unselfish gesture of handing the ball to a very excited disabled St Albans player, allowing him to kick a goal. (Well done Vickram)
After coach Johnson spent time rearranging the magnetic board to ensure an even contest ,the game started a furious pace with two goals to Jack Morrison and one to Sammy Taylor in the first quarter to go to the first break 23 points in front.
The second quarter was a bit more even with both teams slotting three majors each, with Matty Saunders kicking one of those for St Albans, resulting in St Albans winning the quarter by two points.
The last half of the game Panthers were a class above the mixed St Albans side and finished full of running with Ben Hawkins and Daniel Carpenter starring through the midfield.
Final Score; MAZENOD PANTHERS WHITE 12. 8. 80 defeated ST ALBANS 7.11.53
A comfortable 27 point victory to the Panthers.
BEST; Ben Hawkins, Sam Taylor, Jack Morrison, Neil Mc Kinnon and Matt Anderson with Matty Saunders, Shaun Dux, and Chris Johnson as stand out players for St Albans.
GOALS:Sam Taylor 4 Ben Hawkins 2 Jack Morrison 2, Neil McKinnon, Roger Winter, George Youseff, and first time goal scorer Phillip Kraoussoratsky all one goal each, with Matty Saunders and Josh Wallace scoring goals for St Albans.
PANTHERS BLUE
With Sammy Samason running through his banner celebrating his milestone 50th game the Panthers Blue continued their excellent performance from our last game against Coburg to notch up a 14 goal win in round 4 against an undermanned Parkside.
Many thanks to the members of our team that volunteered to make up the numbers for Parkside, in particular the flying Dutchman Mark Vanderven who after over 100 games for the Panthers was best on ground for Parkside, Vanders continues his club leadership role either his contribution as a player or running water for our white team he is an inspiration for all his team mates.
Too strong and too fast is the only way to describe our win over Parkside, with contributors all over the ground, coach Paul McDonald’s game plan is now in full swing, with his assistant Tim running messages
all day, the Panthers were an awesome sight as they ran and carried the ball from one end of the ground to the other.
With the addition to our team of Damien King, the Suttie brothers, Michael Wright, and Goat to our already star studded group and the addition of John Soles (Sick on Sunday) our next game (not for points)against first division Kananook promises to be a real test of our team at the higher level.
Our game against Parkside was played with a great spirit and attitude by both teams to showcase FIDA footy at it’s best with many comments from supporters at the improvement in our ball movement.
Not a weak link in our team on Sunday so it is very hard to pick best players.
A fantastic team effort
