SENIORS
A large deficit outlined another dark day for Chadstone, as they headed out to Allard Park to face the Bulls of North Brunswick. The tough, wet conditions did make it hard to gather clean possession but, the Bulls handled their ground a lot better than the Synners. Despite the scoreline, it was the Synner backline of "Daffy" Cumming, Andrew Sparks and Cailin "CJ" Austin, who stood tall. Jake "Grug" Farrugia again, kicked their only goal. The Synners struggled with their forward entries and missing targets.
Goal Kickers: J. Farrugia

RESERVES
After a quick 2 goal deficit and horrible kicking for goal (1-8 shooting), the Magoos were able to slot one in late in the first quarter to be down by just the solitary point. Although not wind-assisted, the Synners had the "scoring" end in the 2nd and went on a rampage, kicking 5 goals to 2.
By half-time the Reserves knew they were in it and were not going to let a repeat performance of Mt. Lilydale's fadeout get them. North Brunswick came back in the 3rd to be up by three.
Come the fourth, we were back kicking to the favourable end and the Synners really nutted it out and hung tough for what was clearly our best match for the year against a side we usually fall to. The highlights were Tommy Arthur's return and goal from outside "40", Danno and Nick Smith's dominance down back, Little McCall's inspiration in the 2nd half. The backline as whole in that last 5 minutes of the game was simply outstanding, holding them to just 2 points.
But, of course, last but not least, Big Rick's magical banana to give us the lead at the end!!!
