Chaddy were pumped to finally get their season underway after a bye, despite having to face the tall order of the visiting Westbourne Warriors. Westbourne over-powered the under-manned in every area and in every way. The Synners were able to contain last year’s league leading goal-kicker, Jason Collins (4 goals) to a degree thanks to Caleb Vardy-Olsson but, there was not overly enough support as we were unable to field our strongest side. Newly appointed vice-captain, Jason Edwards battled hard all day for the Synners, Dave Bennett never stopped trying and new captain, Brett Cooney was able to stand tall before going down with a minor injury half way through the last term. The Synners finished with 16 on the field and the lack of pre-season miles in our legs hurt. The backline were under pressure all day. Players such as Cookie and Vinnie need to be commended
Best Players: Jase Edwards, Cookie, Caleb, Vinnie
