Following a review of the football department through the 2014 Season there have been a number of key appointments to the Murray Bushrangers Coaching Staff for 2015. In announcing the coaching structure Talent Manager Lee Fraser highlighted the clubs drive to increase it’s coaching with a strong focus on player development and the clubs bottom age players.
“As a club we have been fortunate to maintain the services of our senior assistant coaches who have developed over recent seasons into outstanding role models and coaches of our young list” “People such as Adam Mudra, Ben Davey, Peter McIntyre, Ross Hill and Laurie Hammond have great communication skills and a thorough understanding of what is required within the TAC CUP.
“In addition to this we have added more development coaches who will primarily work with our bottom age players who are entering the TAC CUP for the first time”. “The team of development coaches will be led by for Sydney Swan and Hawthorn player Leon Higgins whose role will be to assist the bottom age players and their development”.
“There was a lot of interest from across the region in the development coaching roles and we are pleased to welcome in Mark Brown, Peter Sheehan, Fraser Stevenson and Luke Morgan to the club”. “Significantly we now have four former Murray Bushrangers on our coaching staff, which is a great reflection on the way the club develops leaders both on and off the field’
“Laurie Hammond with over 20 years experience within the TAC CUP will head up of leadership program which will be further enhanced in 2015’.

The club is pleased to confirm the following appointments for 2015.
TAC CUP Coach - Darren Ogier will continue with the club for his 6th Season in charge of the Murray Bushrangers under 18 Team. Ogier has been instrumental in the development of a number of Bushrangers in recent seasons including AFL players Shaun Atley and Jarman Impey. Following an AFL career at Carlton, North Melbourne and the Sydney Swans Ogier has coached successfully in the VFL, TAC CUP and local level.
Leadership Coordinator – Laurie Hammond with over 20 years’ experience within the TAC CUP Laurie will provide a great service running the clubs revamped leadership program for 2015. Hammond has a great understanding of young adults and has been involved in the development of a number of AFL players.
Backline – Ross Hill. A former Murray BushrangerRoss is a former captain and 300 game veteran of Ovens and Murray League side the Wangaratta Rovers. He will take on the assistant role as backline coach. Ross was a development coach last season and will be completing his LEVEL 2 coaching course in 2015.
Midfield – Adam Mudra. Mudrawill continue in the role of midfield coach in 2015. A former Murray Bushranger and outstanding junior coach at local level Mudra provides great enthusiasm and knowledge to the clubs core of midfielders.
Forward – Ben Davey is a former Seymour legend who will continue in the role as forward line coach in 2015. An outstanding communicator, Ben has a great rapport with the young players and will continue to be a great asset to the Murray Bushrangers Football Club.
Development Coordinator – Leon Higgins the former Sydney and Hawthorn player returns to the club in the important role supporting the bottom age boys whilst working closely with the development coaches
Under 16 Coach – Justin McMahon will continue in the role which will also include a role in the development of the clubs bottom age players. A Victorian Country under 16 assistant coaches Justin offers a great enthusiasm and knowledge to the Under 16 program.
Development Backline - Luke Morgan is a former Murray Bushranger and current Benalla Football Club Coach. Luke’s role will be primarily mid-week working with the clubs developing defenders. With a great passion for coaching and development Morgan is sure to be a great asset to the football club.
Development Midfield – Fraser Stevenson is another former Murray Bushrangers who will perform the role as midfield bench coach on match day and work with the clubs developing midfielders. A former Mansfield Football Club coach, Fraser is keen to continue his coaching career at the Murray Bushrangers.
Development Forward Line – Mark Brown is a former Sydney Swans player who has developed a sporting CV through the Shepparton and Numurkah region. An outstanding sportsman with a passion for both cricket and football the club looks forward to the introduction of Mark into the TAC CUP environment.
Talls Coach – Peter McIntyre former Adelaide Crows star who will continue to provide great support the clubs ruck-man and key position players. Peter has a great ability to work one on one with players whilst working on the finer details of the game, we are lucky to have Peter on board again for the 2015 Season.
Opposition Analysis – Peter Sheehan will commence with the Murray Bushrangers following coaching stints at Benalla and Congupna. Peter has a great passion for the game and will play a critical role in opposition analysis on a weekly basis.
